Ipsy Glam Bag — November 2014

I wasn’t too crazy about my Ipsy Glam Bag this month — or last month either, to be honest — but it’s kind of my own fault because I’ve been slacking on reviewing the items in my Glam Bag on Ipsy.com. I really find that when I review each item for the month and check off the brands I like and the brands I don’t like I usually get much better Glam Bags.

I think Ipsy does a great job at really personalizing their subscription service. They also let you review bags from past months so I tried to catch up on the ones I missed and I’m sure that I’ll love my Glam Bag again next month!

The actual “Glam Bag” makeup case this month

Each month Ipsy sends out a makeup bag, the “Glam Bag,” to hold all of your beauty goodies. I lovedddd the makeup case this month — it’s a pretty sparkly silver with a pink zipper trim. This is definitely one of my favorite bags I have received since I first subscribed (if not my #1 favorite). Super cute, and it’s a great size to hold a good amount of stuff (not just makeup) and throw in my handbag.

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray

Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray ($8.29 for 1.5 oz.; walgreens.com): I haven’t tried out this hairspray yet but I really hope I like it because a good hairspray is one of the hardest beauty products for me to find. This one is sulfate-free and infused with Moroccan argan oil, keratin and grape seed oil to give you strong and flexible hold plus deep nourishment, strength and conditioning.

J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint and TEMPTU S/B Highlighter

J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint ($4.99 for 0.33 oz.; jcatbeauty.com): I haven’t tried this product out yet, and I’m really not usually a fan of lip tints, but I did love the way this color looked when I swatched it on my hand. This lip tint comes in a bunch of awesome looking colors, many of them aren’t exactly your everyday lip shades but they are super cool looking nonetheless. The J. Cat Beauty website has 18 different colors to choose from, including a bright lilac, mint, teal/blue and even a metallic gold!

TEMPTU S/B Highlighter ($27.50 for 1 oz.; temptu.com): I could have sworn I got this same highlighter from a past (recent) Ipsy Glam Bag, but I might have received it in a different subscription box. It’s a pretty highlighter — I haven’t used it that much but I used it once or twice and this color especially is very, very pretty. You can use it on your face or anywhere on your body where you want an extra glow.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base in Submissive

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Eye Base ($14 for 0.09 oz.; beabombshellcosmetics.com): I haven’t used this one yet either (I guess I haven’t really used most of the Glam Bag items yet …) but I am excited to try it out. I was actually just thinking that I wanted to get a new eye base and this one comes in a really pretty color that’s going to look great blended with neutral shadows.

Elizabeth Mott you’re so FINE Eyeliner

Elizabeth Mott you’re so FINE Eyeliner ($17.99 for 0.1 oz.; elizabethmott.com): I feel like I’ve been getting a few too many liquid eyeliners in Ipsy Glam Bags (and beauty subscriptions in general) lately so I wasn’t too excited to see this one. I haven’t tried out this product yet either but I’m definitely going to test it out this weekend. It has a super fine “micro-tipped” brush so you can control your strokes and get a very clean and precise line — which is great for girls like me who get a little sloppy when applying liquid liner!

Subscription Box Breakdown:

Not my favorite month for Ipsy, but not my least favorite month either. I LOVED the makeup case this month and the products weren’t bad — I just feel like I have a lot of similar products and I wasn’t too excited about this month’s Glam Bag in general. I have reviewed all of these products on Ipsy’s website so I’m sure I’ll like my Glam Bag a lot better next month.
