I was super excited about the Julep Maven collection for March and I couldn’t wait for the box to arrive! This month Julep debuted “The POP! Collection”, its first new collection for spring that included pretty new pastels with a “retro vibe,” Julep’s new “soft focus” semi-matte finish, a new hydrating lipstick formula and Julep’s newest Fluid Eye Glider eyeliner pen.
Julep is a customizable nail and beauty subscription so each month you can choose what goes into your box. There were three base products this month and then you can pick a number of other items to add-on to your box. I chose three add-ons this month and when you choose three or more you get a free gift!
This was my base box for the month … I chose one nail polish, one lipstick shade and the new Fluid Eye Glider (which I love).
Julep Fluid Eye Glider ($20 for 0.037 oz.; julep.com): I am lovinggg this new eyeliner. It has a “no-fray precision felt tip” that allows you to easily make thin or thick lines and it dries fast and stays put for 12+ hours. I’ve been playing around with this non-stop since I got it and I’ve been taking a bunch of photos. I think I’m going to review the new Julep beauty products this month (this eyeliner, plus the new lipstick formula) in a different post because they are both so awesome!
Julep Nail Color in Nayely ($14 or $11.20 for Maven subscribers, 0.27 oz.; julep.com): This shade is gorgeous and it was definitely my favorite nail color this month — and probably one of my favorite nail colors ever. It’s described as a “papaya nectar crème” with a crème finish.
Julep Light On Your Lips in Twirl ($22 or $17.60 for Maven subscribers, 0.12 oz.; julep.com): I am still super excited about Julep’s new lipstick formula this month and, like I said before, I think I’m going to write an individual review post to highlight these new beauty products even more. I love this color — it’s a pretty carnation pink in a full-coverage crème formula that “floats on and feels weightless.”
I couldn’t pass up these pretty soft focus colors this month so I was so happy to see that a set of all three of them were available as an add-on. The Soft Focus Set included:
Julep Nail Color in Janet ($14 or $11.20 for Maven subscribers, 0.27 oz.; julep.com): A pale peach soft focus (semi-matte) shade with a silk/satin finish.
Julep Nail Color in LuLu ($14 or $11.20 for Maven subscribers, 0.27 oz.; julep.com): A Wisteria mist soft focus (semi-matte) shade with a silk/satin finish.
Julep Nail Color in Ali ($14 or $11.20 for Maven subscribers, 0.27 oz.; julep.com): A “hint of mint” soft focus (semi-matte) shade with a silk/satin finish.
I loved all of the new lipstick shades so I absolutely had to get another lipstick as an add-on this month. I went with the “2015 Color of the Year” shade, Primp, which is a marsala color (pictured at the bottom of the photo).
Julep Light On Your Lips in Primp ($22 or $17.60 for Maven subscribers, 0.12 oz.; julep.com): Just a little more info. about Julep’s new lipstick formula … The full-coverage formula glides on easily and hugs the contours of your lips, it stays in place with no feathering and it contains shea butter to hydrate lips, antioxidant-rich botanical extracts and Julep’s “Power Cell Complex.”
I wish I got a better photo of this nail polish because this one definitely doesn’t do it any justice. This is a super cool sparkly green color, perfect for St. Patty’s Day. I never picked this one up last year but Julep released it again this year (it’s “back from the vault”) so I chose it as my third add-on for the month.
Julep Nail Color in Lucky ($14 or $11.20 for Maven subscribers, 0.27 oz.; julep.com): A kelly green and gold coin multi-dimensional, full-coverage polish with a glitter finish.
The last item this month was a freebie — if you choose three or more add-ons to your Maven box for the month then Julep will send you a free product. I actually have this shade already and I think this is like the fourth time I have received this shade — I received it in a Maven box awhile ago when the color first came out, then I received it in a Julep mystery box and I’m pretty sure I received it again before I got it as a free gift this month. I have passed along all of my duplicates to my friends so I will be passing this one along too 🙂
Julep Nail Color in Francis ($14 or $11.20 for Maven subscribers, 0.27 oz.; julep.com): A celery green shade with a crème finish.
