Yippeeeee my Pop Sugar Must Have box has arrived! The inspirations for November’s box were friends and family, gratitude, gifting and festivities … so basically a very Thanksgiving-y theme. There were a lot of great items this month, including an absolutely wonderful eyeshadow quad from Tarte (one of my favorites). Read on for more descriptions … !
Pop Sugar Must Have is the only monthly subscription I receive that sends out a random-ish assortment of goodies every month (all of my other boxes are mostly beauty boxes). This box is a little more expensive than the others I subscribe to but I definitely think the price is well worth it. Almost all of the items they send out are full-sized versions and they send out such a great mix of stuff, plus they feature a lot of new products on the market, so it’s also a fun service to discover new things. This month’s box wasn’t my favorite but I still liked all of the items and I definitely think the value was worth the $39.95 monthly charge.
The first item was this 100% satin pillowcase. I didn’t get a photo of the whole pillowcase but it’s an average satin bright white case. I really liked this pillowcase and I’m actually using it on my bed already 😀 Pop Sugar also included a 20%-off coupon for Savvy Sleepers so I might just order myself another satin pillowcase from them since this one is pretty sweet.
Savvy Sleepers Luxury Satin Pillowcase ($36; savvysleepers.com): A 100% satin pillowcase that prevents sleep wrinkles, reduces hair breakage and protects salon blowouts for “the ultimate sleep experience.” This pillowcase is “ultra-smooth for hair and skin” and it even comes with a little secret pocket. I think I’m going to put some kind of special herb blend in a little pouch and stick it in the pocket for a super peaceful sleep 🙂
This body scrub was one of my favorite items this month. It made my skin feel super soft after using it and I love the light lavender vanilla scent.
The Honest Company Sea Salt + Sugar Body Scrub ($17 for 9.5 oz.; honest.com): This body scrub is formulated with whole grain sugars and sea salts to exfoliate the skin, plus shea butter and almond oils to hydrate and soften.
I have been using the It’s A 10 leave-in product on and off for almost 10 years now. Right now I am currently using the It’s A 10 leave-in plus Keratin so I’m going to be passing this original formula on to one of my girlfriends who also uses this product regularly.
It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In Product ($12 for 2 oz.; itsa10haircare.com): A leave-in product that provides 10 benefits to hair — it detangles, adds shine, stops frizz, conditions and more. There are a few different formulas to choose from now (I feel like I notice a new one every time I go to the store), so you can choose the best one based on your hair type.
I was actually pretty happy to see a pair of comfy-looking socks in my October Must Have box. My socks always mysteriously go missing (which kinda happens to everyone), so I am pretty much always in need of more socks, especially around this time of year as the temperature starts to drop.
Richer Poorer Hope Slipper Socks ($15; richer-poorer.com): These slipper socks were specially designed by Pop Sugar to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). They are super cozy and warm, plus they’re hot pink to bring awareness to breast cancer this month and every other month throughout the year. Richer Poorer proudly supports the fight against breast cancer and Right Action For Women, which helps to provide advanced cancer screenings to women.
I love receiving (pretty hardcover) books in my Must Have boxes because they are usually titles I wouldn’t normally buy for myself and discovering new stuff is one of the reasons I love this subscription box so much. I don’t think I would have picked up Mindy Kaling’s new book for myself but I am excited to read it — it seems like a light, funny, mood-lifting read, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Why Not Me? by Mindy Kaling ($25; amazon.com): Mindy Kaling’s second book is filled with “laugh-out-loud” essays in which she shares her ongoing journey to find contentment and excitement in her adult life.
Easy, Tiger Brown Paper Liquor Bag Set ($2 for one bag; cardsforawesomepeople.com): Brown paper bags to make transport, gifting and even drinking of liquor/wine a lot easier. These bags will definitely come in handy for the upcoming holiday season … !
The last item in this month’s Pop Sugar Must Have box was a yummy treat from Belgian Boys. I was very happy to see this in the box — I love these things … gooey caramel goodness enclosed in a sweet waffle-like exterior!
Belgian Boys De Stroopwafel ($1.59 for a pack of two; belgianboys.com): A caramel-filled waffle with a crunchy outside and chewy inside. A yummy accompaniment to a cup of coffee or tea, it’s the perfect “anytime pick-me-up.”
Subscription Box Breakdown:
This wasn’t my favorite Must Have box ever, but it wasn’t terrible and I did like all of the products. I was happy to discover the lovely, satin-y pillowcase, as well as the sugar scrub, socks and Mindy Kaling’s book. I don’t think these products were all that exciting compared to past Must Have boxes but they were pretty cool nonetheless and worth the $39.95 monthly charge (I think).

Pop Sugar Must Have is one of my favorite subscription boxes and I get so excited when I see it on my doorstep every month. This month’s box wasn’t my favorite one ever, but it did have a lot of great stuff and I like pretty much every item in it. I’ll definitely be using them all!
G.H. Cretors Chicago Mix Popped Corn ($3.69 for 7.5 oz.; ghcretors.com): I’m not really a fan of cheese-flavored popcorn so this bag was a little weird to me. I LOVE, love, love caramel corn, though, so I picked those out and ate around the cheese-flavored pieces. The caramel corn pieces were amazing and perfectly popped, puffy and crunchy and all that popcorn awesomeness. I would even say this was one of the best caramel popcorns I have ever tried … !
The Secret Recipes by Dominique Ansel ($35; books.simonandschuster.com): I love getting new recipe books and this is a beautiful, beautiful book. This one is definitely more of a coffee table book (for me, at least) because a lot of the recipes are a bit complex. There’s definitely a few in there that I can try out (I’ll post the results here when I do). Dominique Ansel’s pastries are GORGEOUS so this book is worth it just to look at the amazing, super intricate and crazy unique pastry designs.
Wine Glass Writer ($9.95 — custom 3-pack for Pop Sugar Must Have; wineglasswriter.com): These are cute fast-drying metallic wine glass writers that you can use to design your glasses. They wash off with soap and water so you can write (or draw) something new each time. Not something I would necessarily buy for myself but I will definitely be using them!
Tiny Prints Thoughtful Heart Stationery ($15 for set of 15 notecards & envelopes; tinyprints.com/popsugar): I loveeeee stationery so I was happy to recieve this cute set, which was designed exclusively for Pop Sugar. The November box also included a card to get $25 off your order at tinyprints.com — they have a bunch of cute stuff that you can personalize with your name, photos, sayings, etc. I’m going to order a new notebook and maybe new business cards too 🙂
SORIAL Saffiano Wallet on a Chain ($49 for one wallet; shopsorial.com): This wallet-on-a-chain is super cute to use as a tiny evening bag or even to throw in your purse and use it as a wallet or case to hold makeup/phone/accessories — which is probably what I’m going to do with it. The SORIAL website features different mini clutch/wallet designs in a bunch of different colors as well.
K. Hall Simpatico Ambergris Shea Butter Cream ($22 for 3.4 oz.; khalldesigns.com): The last item was this super smooth shea butter cream for hands and body. It has a sweet musky scent and “intense moisturizing qualities.” I have soooooo many body creams and lotions that keep piling up but I’ll definitely be using this one because it works so well and I love the scent!
Subscription Box Breakdown:
Again, it wasn’t my favorite month ever for Pop Sugar Must Have but it was definitely a good one. I liked every item pretty much and it was a nice mix of goodies. My favorite item this month was probably the notecard set!

Pop Sugar Must Have is a monthly beauty, fashion and lifestyle subscription box that costs about $40 per month (I am charged $43.39 per month, which includes tax and shipping to NY). To subscribe click here, or visit musthave.popsugar.com for more information!
So I took a few months off from blogging because I had a lottt going on. I had computer issues towards the end of the summer, and then I started working a new job with crazy hours so as much as I tried, I still couldn’t sit down and write up the posts that I wanted to do. I hardly even did my makeup over the last few months — so I had boxes and boxes of new makeup piling up on the floor of my bedroom and I wasn’t even using any of it! But I am back now, with a MUCH better work schedule (yay) and I have sooooo much to blog about. I will definitely be making AT LEAST one blog post a day from now on.
Pop Sugar sent out their October Must Have boxes a little late this month, so I just received my box a few days ago. I usually like to get subscription box reviews up the day that I receive them but I figured that since I took so much time off from blogging that it really doesn’t matter this month! And this month’s Must Have box was pretty cool so I definitely wanted to review it.
Since Pop Sugar had some issues this month the Must Have boxes were shipped out pretty late and I received mine on Thursday, one day before Halloween. I got it just in time to try out these Halloween nail decals, which came with a sheet of four different designs, and each design has six decals. Only two of the designs are really Halloween-ish (the pumpkin and spiderwebs) so I’m definitely going to try out the other two throughout the month. They’re fall-ish colors, so they would be cute for Thanksgiving too.
Nailed Kit Halloween Nail Decals ($8 for a sheet of 24 decals; nailedkit.com) are non-toxic, “easy-to-apply” nail-art decals which were designed exclusively this month for Pop Sugar Must Have. I always have a hard time with things like this, which is probably mostly because I’m always super impatient and I never apply these things correctly … so my decals fell off within one hour of applying them. I’m going to try them again with the orange designs and actually take my time applying them — and then I’ll post some pics if it goes well!
Pop Sugar usually sends out a food/candy item in their monthly Must Have boxes, so this month everyone received these pumpkin spice malt balls from Dean & DeLuca. I love pumpkin spice anything, so I loved these!
Dean & DeLuca Pumpkin Spice Malt Balls ($5.75 for 5.50 oz.; deananddeluca.com) are gourmet malt balls that “capture the flavor of Fall,” made with real pumpkin spices and dipped in dark chocolate.
This next item was one of my favorites this month. It’s a super cool chalkboard candle that comes with a piece of chalk so you can write whatever you want. As you can see, I’m not the best at writing with chalk (I broke the piece of chalk already), but you can write (or draw!), erase, and then write something new!
Mine Design Chalkboard Candle ($24 for one candle; minedesignhome.com) is a reusable and rewritable chalkboard soy ceramic candle. It comes in the cute ceramic design that was in the October Must Have box, as well as a tin chalkboard design which is smaller and a little cheaper.
A good photo frame is always a great thing to have, and this is one product that I honestly don’t really buy for myself (and I don’t have an acrylic one like this, so yay!).
Isaac Jacobs International Acrylic Photo Frame ($36 for one frame; isaacjacobs.com) is described as a “durable and chic frame” that is “the perfect way to display your special memories for years to come.” You can even use this as a double-sided frame and display two photos in it — all you have to do is slip the photo in the center of the frame, and done! Super cute and easy (and no glass for klutzes like me to break!).
I loveeee fancy new soaps and shower gels so I was super happy to see this one by K. Hall Designs as a “Special Extra” item this month. Every time I am running low on soap/shower gel, I always find one in a monthly subscription box, it’s an awesome cycle 🙂 I don’t think I have actually went out and bought a soap or shower gel for myself in about a year now.
K. Hall Designs Shoreline Shea Butter/Olive Oil Bar Soap ($10 for 8 oz.; khalldesigns.com) is a pure vegetable, triple-milled soap enhanced with shea butter and olive oil to moisturize and protect the skin. The half pound oversized soap bar is “rich and creamy” and it will last longer than your average bar soap.
The next item was this cute pair of combed cotton socks in a leopard print design. I could always use a new pair of socks (somehow I end up losing mine all the time — and I have no idea how), so these are always great to have.
Happy Socks Animal Socks ($12 for one pair; happysocks.com) are “crafted with the finest combed cotton” to “ensure that only the highest-quality material will hug the feet of men and women alike.” Happy Socks come in a bunch of different animal print colors and designs, and the pair that I received in this month’s Must Have box were dark grey with black and red leopard print spots. Not something I would necessarily buy for myself, but that’s what I love about subscription boxes — finding new and unique products that I don’t already own 🙂
This product was probably my favorite item this month — a super long-lasting eyeliner pencil from Butter London. I love Butter London polishes and I was super excited to see this pencil in my October Must Have box because I have never really tried any of their beauty products before (except for the manicure and pedicure products). I only tried this out once really quickly yesterday but I definitely loved the way it glided on so easily and the color (“Earl Grey”) is an awesome smoky grey.
butter LONDON WINK Eye Pencil ($18 for .04 oz.; butterlondon.com) is a blendable eye pencil that sets after 30 seconds, so it’s supposed to stay put all day. Pop Sugar sent out the color “Earl Grey” which is described as a “steel grey shimmer,” and they come in a bunch of other colors too.
Subscription Box Breakdown:
There were more products than usual in October’s Must Have box so that was a plus! This wasn’t my absolute favorite month for Pop Sugar Must Have, but I really liked most of the items and I will definitely be putting them all to use. I also forgot to add above that there was a second “Special Extra” in this month’s box: a $40-off coupon for an Express Box from Blue Jean Bar. It’s a monthly subscription box that sends out hand-picked clothing items based on your style preferences and size. I’m definitely trying this one out! I love getting discount coupons for new subscription boxes so I can try them out 🙂

I’m always super excited when I see the new Pop Sugar Must Have box on my doorstep, but this month’s box wasn’t really the most interesting for me. I think last month’s box was a lot better. The July box had some cool items … some things I wouldn’t normally buy for myself, so I guess that’s a good thing since I like discovering new products, and I’m definitely going to be using most of these items, I just think that the box overall was a bit blah. I’m really not complaining, especially since the Must Have boxes are usually so awesome, this one was just not the best (in my humble opinion).
This month’s Must Have box was a very summery July theme, complete with items for the beach, brightly-colored foodie accessories, and yummy toasted coconut snacks. The other side of this card (above) details each item featured for the month, I just didn’t use the photo for that side because it didn’t come out clear enough!
The first item was a pair of these super fun salad servers. French Bull Ziggy Salad Servers ($12 for set of two; frenchbull.com) are scratch- and shatter-resistant and dishwasher safe so they will last for a longggg time. I’m loving the cute zigzag pattern, but they also come in three more colorful patterns that are available on the French Bull website.
My favorite item this month was actually this pack of super cute chevron-patterned paper straws. I have actually been meaning to pick up paper straws just like these for awhile now because I have seen a lot of cute DIY projects online that use them, so, even though they might seem like a boring subscription box item (“a pack of straws??”), I will definitely be putting them to use.
ACME Party Box Company Chevron Straws ($7 for pack of 24; acmepartybox.com) are described as “old-fashioned paper straws” that will “make any occasion feel extra-special!” They’re one of those “too pretty to use”-type products — and I would much rather have them on display somehow than to use them in a drink (that’s where the DIY projects come in!).
Okay I’m still not exactly sure how I feel about this one. I’m not exactly a hat girl … although this one is described as a “beach hat” to protect you from the summer heat. Either way, I still don’t think I’ll be wearing it. I don’t know, maybe. I haven’t really tried it. I feel like my hair needs to be a little longer to wear a hat … like, down to my hips. Then maybe it would look cute?
Michael Stars Sea Grass Crusher Hat ($48; michaelstars.com) is made from knotted sea grass and has a faux leather band wrapped around it with two buttons at the end. The dark brown color I received (above) looks like it might be exclusive to Pop Sugar, or it’s just not available on the website. The website features two different colors — a cobblestone blue-ish gray and a natural straw shade.
These “chips” were actually a LOT yummier than I thought they would be. I’m not a huge fan of some coconut-flavored foods (I definitely don’t like coconut in my chocolate, and I’m not really feeling the coconut water craze), but there are some other coconut foods that I loooooveee, like Thai coconut milk-infused soups, or toasted coconut in or on pretty much anything. These chips were awesome, and what I liked most about them is that they’re crunchy on the outside, and then you get a slightly softer feeling in the center of the chip from the meaty flesh of the coconut. I’m about to buy the 3.2-oz. family size bag on Amazon because these chips are my new favorite snack.
Dang Foods Toasted Coconut Chips (~$3 for 1.43-oz. bag; dangfoods.com) are non-GMO, gluten-free and vegan “chips” that can be eaten straight out of the bag or sprinkled onto just about anything (ice cream, yogurt, oatmeal, salads, etc.) for a delicious treat. Coconut “meat” (copra) is high in fiber and provides “loads of energy”, making these chips an even more awesome snack.
I guess any good summer subscription box should have some kind of sunscreen in it, but I’m stocked up on enough sunscreen to get me through to next summer, so this was another not-so-exciting part of the July Must Have box for me. The after-sun lotion, on the other hand, I will definitely be using. It is infused with aloe, Vitamin E and cocoa butter to help soothe skin and preserve your tan.
Sun Bum SPF 30 Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion ($15.99 for 8 oz.; shop.trustthebum.com) is described as a “moisturizing sunscreen formula” that will protect your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays while enriching skin with Vitamin E, which helps to neutralize free radicals (the main cause of premature skin aging).
Sun Bum Cool Down Hydrating After Sun Lotion ($11.99 for 8 oz.; shop.trustthebum.com) is enriched with soothing Aloe and Vitamin E to provide “an intense hydration to gently restore the skin’s natural moisture balance,” in a light, non-greasy formula that absorbs quickly, leaving skin soft and smooth.
Another product that’s not so exciting, but useful nonetheless. I have been meaning to buy a new jump rope and this one is perfect. Jump rope workouts are fast and efficient and it’s the perfect workout to get in in the morning before a busy day.
TKO Jump Rope With Soft Grip Handles (~$13; tko.com) are perfect for a quick workout sesh and you can burn up to 170 calories in just 15 minutes. This one has soft grip handles so you can jump rope in comfort 🙂
The last item this month was a “Special Extra” product from Revlon — a new mascara with high-shine, ultra black fibers.
Revlon Bold Lacquer Length & Volume Mascara ($7.99 for 0.24 oz.; drugstore.com) contains a lacquer film technology and intense color pigments that deliver a “lustrous, deep color to lashes,” and a “lash stretch” brush that pulls the high-shine, lengthening fibers “from root to tip and beyond.”
Pop Sugar Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that costs $39.95 per month. They feature a range of items from beauty to fashion to home decor, fitness, food and more, and all items are full-sized (so it’s well worth the price!). To join, click here, or visit musthave.popsugar.com for more info 🙂
This month Pop Sugar updated it’s Must Have box a little bit with a new design on the inside of the box (it used to say “Enjoy!” now it says “Surprise. Love. Enjoy!“), and a new, more compact design for the product description card that comes with every box. I definitely like this new description card better — the old one used to fold out into six different sections, one section for each item featured that month, and the new one folds out into just three sections with product descriptions on the left and right and then photos of the actual products in the center.
I’m always excited for my Pop Sugar Must Have box every month because it’s the only box I subscribe to that features all full-sized products, and there is a big variety in products from beauty to fashion to home decor, fitness, food, and more. At first, I kind of thought this month’s box was a little on the less-exciting side, but, honestly, as I go through these products more and more and now that I’m actually using them I’m liking the box way more than I did when I initially opened it two days ago.
Every time I run out of a beauty product it seems like it always appears in my world within a week or so in a subscription box. I ran out of makeup wipes a few days ago actually, so I was happy to see these individually-packed wet cleansing wipes in this month’s Must Have box. At first I thought that they were just your regular run-of-the-mill wet wipes, but they have multiple uses and they are gentle enough (and effective enough) to use on your face for makeup removal.
You Smell Lemon Wet Wipes ($6 for 12 individually wrapped wipes; yousmellsoap.com) are described as “naturally antibacterial wipes” that are both durable, gentle, and alcohol-free. These soothing, individually-wrapped wipes are great for cleansing and are made with aloe to help soothe and restore the skin. They are strong enough “for a lot of use,” gentle enough for your face, and they do not contain any parabens or phthalates.
I’m really never that impressed by a lot of the snacks that have appeared in my Must Have boxes over the last few months — many of them are super healthy and because of their good-for-you ingredients a lot of them lack significant flavor. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I still always eat them (so I guess there isn’t room for too many complaints), BUT what I’m trying to say is that I was a lot happier this month with these super yummy kettle-cooked Hawaiian BBQ-flavored chips. I’m not even a big potato chip person, but these were great … and the packaging is also really cute.
One Potato Two Potato Hawaiian BBQ Kettle Potato Chips ($2 for 2 oz., or $24 for a case of 24 two-oz. bags; onepotatosnacks.com) are cooked with all-natural ingredients, “packed with flavor”, and they are gluten-free with no MSG. These super yummy chips are kettle cooked in small batches with sunflower oil, which contains vitamin E and monounsaturated fat (“the good fat”), and they come in five different flavors.
I love this whole new, cute hair tie revolution. It’s like everyone is making hair ties right now that look super cute in your hair, and even cuter when worn on your wrist.
Lollies Basics Hair Ties ($8 for three ties, lollieshairties.com) are made of swimsuit material that doesn’t stretch over time and they come in packs of three in a bunch of different color combinations. The ones featured in the June Must Have box came with a little gold ring, and then, on the website, there are others without the ring that tie together at the end instead. I’m definitely ordering more of these!
I’ve been reading so many non-fiction books recently that I haven’t read a real novel in over a year, so I was very happy to see this one in the June Must Have box. I think it’s awesome to receive a hardcover book in a subscription box, and this looks like one that I’ll definitely enjoy.
Emily Giffin’s “The One & Only” ($28; amazon.com) is the highly anticipated new novel from the New York Times bestselling author. It is the story of “an unlikely romance and lifelong friends set against the backdrop of Texas football.” I read the extended summary on the inside sleeve and I’m definitely excited to start reading!
I actually haven’t unfolded this beach towel just yet because I’m never able to roll these kinds of things back up correctly, but, from what I see (and feel) this towel is very pretty, “chic”, and it definitely doesn’t feel like your average beach towel, which could be a good thing. I’m totally into anything unique and outside-the-box, so I’ll be rocking this towel down at the beach in the coming weeks. It really doesn’t seem all that big, but Pop Sugar says it’s a beach towel, so it must be big enough for the beach.
Turkish-T Basic Breeze Sorbet Terry-Lined Beach Towel ($32; turkish-t.com) is a lightweight beach towel “loomed from the world’s finest cotton” with an added light layer of terry that makes it “an ideal beach towel, pool towel, or bath towel.” It comes in a bunch of different colors and my favorite part about it is that it doubles as a “glam wrap” at night.
The last product in this month’s Pop Sugar Must Have box was an awesomely-sized luxe body lotion from SACHAJUAN. I love getting full-sized products like this that are always useful, no matter what season it is. It feels super smooth and it has a pretty, light, citrus-y scent.
SACHAJUAN Shiny Citrus Body Lotion ($24 for 10.1 oz.; sachajuan.com) is described as a “luxurious body lotion” with “earthen silk technology” to hydrate and soothe skin. This lotion has “anti-aging and anti-irritant properties” and leaves skin feeling smooth with a light scent of fresh citrus and jasmine.
I definitely liked every single product featured this month and I was happy to discover a few new products that I will probably be ordering more of (like the hair ties, the wet wipes, and even the potato chips). The novel really seems like one I will enjoy, and I love receiving super-sized necessities like the 10-oz. SACHAJUAN body lotion. Oh, and, I love when Pop Sugar includes a fashion accessory that I’ll get plenty of use out of like the beach towel. If I find my way to a beachy vacation this summer I’ll also be using it as a wrap.
I forgot to mention (because I didn’t take a picture of it), that this month’s box also included a $15 gift card to Native Union, a company that creates tech accessories and “geek gadgetry.” I haven’t perused the site just yet, but I’m sure I’ll find something I like (I always do …).
Pop Sugar Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that includes all full-sized items in a number of categories, including beauty, fashion, home decor, fitness, food, and more. Subscriptions start at $39.95 per month, with the option to pay a little less per month with 3-, 6-, or 12-month subscriptions. To subscribe, click here, or visit musthave.popsugar.com for more information!
I usually love my Pop Sugar Must Have box every month, well, I love pretty much all of the subscription boxes I receive, but the Pop Sugar box always has an awesome mix of all full-sized products and it’s probably the box I look forward to the most. It costs a bit more than a lot of the other boxes (at $39.95/month), but it’s definitely worth it because it isn’t a sampling service — you’re actually receiving all full-sized items (many of them are new), ranging from fashion to beauty to fitness, food, jewelry, etc.
This month’s Pop Sugar box wasn’t the most exciting, but there were still a bunch of products I really like and the best part, for me, is receiving products that I normally wouldn’t buy for myself (like the Citrus Zinger) and discovering new products (like the beachy-scented perfume spray).
First up is the Must Have Food item of the month — these crunchy, airy, multi-grain, sweet onion-flavored snack sticks. These are okay. I like healthy food but I don’t like healthy food when it tastes too healthy. These are good because you get that satisfying crunch that you normally would from a potato chip (with 40% less fat), but they still taste a little too …. healthy. The sweet onion taste is kind of blocked by the taste of the multi grain, in my humble opinion. You can still taste the sweet onion flavor, but the overall flavor that I got was the multi grain.
Hi I’m Skinny Sticks Multi-Grain Sweet Onion ($4 for 7-oz. bag or $35.88 for a case of 12; hiimskinny.com) are described as a “super tasty and healthy alternative to chips and cookies,” with 40 percent less fat than potato chips, 15g of whole grains per serving, and under four calories per stick. These all-natural snacks are packed with “all kinds of grains” including whole ground corn, rice, oat flour, and barley.
I’m definitely excited about this citrus zinger because I have been wanting to make my own drinks for a few summers now …. just never really got around to it (like so many other things). This zinger is a very simple little device, really. You just press lemons, limes, or any other citrus directly into your water and you have your own refreshing drink. I just bought a lemon-scented/flavored leaf plant for the garden (I forgot the name of it), and those leaves are going to infuse an awesome flavor into the drinks I make with this thing.
Zing Anything Citrus Zinger ($16.99 for one zinger; zinganything.com) is a simple, easy-to-use zinger specifically designed for citrus fruits like lemons, limes, clementines, and more. You can easily extract juice and flavor from citrus fruits to infuse them directly into your water bottle and create delicious lemonades, limeades, and orangeades. This zinger can be used with your on-the-go water bottle and enhance your water with vitamin C and flavonoids. The Zing Anything website has detailed instructions for how to use and wash the zinger, plus recipes to make a bunch of different drinks.
These next two items were kind of … meh. The DVD is okay, and I’ll definitely be using it, but these get boring after awhile and I would really much rather go to my dance, yoga, and pilates classes to get fit. An eye mask is something I have never used and I have a feeling I probably won’t be using it because I usually pass out every night in my bed still half typing on my laptop. Hee.
Tone It Up One Day Fat Blast ($15 for one DVD; toneitup.com) contains two “fat-burning, calorie-smashing workouts” with the ladies from Bravo’s Toned Up. Each calorie-blasting workout is only 30 minutes long, so even the busiest of girls can fit in a quick workout sesh.
Kerry Cassill Eye Mask ($24 for one mask; kerrycassill.com) is made of soft voile cotton and comes in a bunch of different colors/patterns “so you can sleep peacefully.”
I was really excited about this next item because I needed a new, pretty, bright blue polish for the summer. I also haven’t used any polishes from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics before, so I was excited to try this one out. The smell kind of threw me off when I opened it up, and I thought that it was formulated with all the icky stuff that so many nail polish companies have been straying away from, but a quick reading of the bottle assured me that this polish is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without all the questionable ingredients.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer ($10 for 0.5 oz.; sephora.com) is described as a “nail lacquer in a professional formulation and modern color palette.” These polishes come in over 40 different densely pigmented, quick-drying, and “super long-lasting” shades.
So the last item in this month’s Pop Sugar Must Have box ended up being my favorite. I am in LOVE with the beachy smell of this fragrance spray, and I have even been spritzing it around my room and car, essentially having this scent all over everything I own. My puppy even smells like this spray now since it rubs off on him after I cover him in hugs. I think this is the kind of scent that a lot of people might not really like — it’s like a mix of the beach, tanning lotion, some coconut, and jasmine — but I love it and I’m going to check out more fragrance sprays from Smell Bent to see what else they have to offer.
Smell Bent St. Tropez Dispenser ($45 for 1.7 oz.; smellbent.com) is described as having an “intoxicating blend of jasmine absolute and fresh coconut aromas” — it’s pretty much the beach in a bottle. This fragrance spray contains notes of jasmine, fresh coconut, aloe vera, and vintage musk. Like I said before — I don’t think this scent is for everyone, but I am certainly enjoying it.
This month wasn’t my favorite Pop Sugar Must Have box, but I really liked three of the items (the nail polish, the fragrance spray, and the citrus zinger). As far as value goes, this box definitely surpassed the $39.99 price (as do all Pop Sugar Must Have boxes). I’m just looking forward to what the June box has to offer; if one month is kind of meh, then the next month is usually a lot better.
Pop Sugar Must Have is a monthly beauty/fashion/lifestyle subscription box that costs $39.99 per month with the option of paying multiple months at a time for a discounted price. To subscribe click here, or visit musthave.popsugar.com for more information.
