I love the middle of the month — when pretty much all of my subscription boxes arrive right around the same time. I’m also loving the pink/red/love/hearts/girly Valentine’s-themed boxes I’ve been seeing, so this month I’m a little more excited than usual for my subscription boxes to show up at my doorstep.
Beauty Box Five is still the newest subscription box for me since I only subscribed a few months ago. I’ve really been liking all of the boxes I have received so far, and they always send out items in great sizes (not just small samples), so it’s well worth the $12/month price (for me).
I was a littttle disappointed to see this mascara again, since I just received it in the July Pop Sugar Must Have box. Revlon is obviously going hard trying to promote their new mascara formula across the beauty community, but I am SO stocked up on mascaras that it’s just kind of meh for me. Either way, I really can’t complain since it’s a full-sized product and I will definitely be trying it out over the next few days (I haven’t even opened up the packaging yet). I’ll probably pass along the second one to a friend.
Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara ($7.99 for 0.24 oz.; ulta.com) is the brand’s newest mascara with a “lacquered” formula that delivers volume and definition while actually lifting the lashes (the same way a curler would). It’s waterproof, smudge-proof and flake-proof.
I tried this deep conditioner out yesterday and it really did make my hair look and feel better (healthier). This packet looks small, but there is a LOT of product stuffed into it and I think I can get at least four uses out of it — I have medium-length hair.
HASK Argan Oil Intense Deep Conditioning Hair Treatment ($2.39 for 1.75 oz.; beautybox5shop.com) is described as a “super strengthening, hydrating treatment that will restore and smooth dry, damaged, chemically treated or over processed hair,” and results are supposed to last for two weeks.
I don’t really have curly hair so I’m not sure if this product will work well for me, but it is supposed to fight frizz, which I have plenty of (especially during the summertime), so I’m just going to try it out and see!
Miss Jessie’s Multi Cultural Curls ($16 for 8.5 oz.; beautybox5shop.com) is described as a “true hero product for ladies with multi-textured curls.” It is a styling lotion that fights frizz and delivers a “soft, gorgeous hold.”
I tried out this scrub on my face yesterday and I loved it! It’s so gentle and my skin felt so smooth after I used it. Beauty Box Five sent out a great sample size of this stuff so I’ll definitely get plenty of use out of it.
Anna Naturals Glowing Mama Walnut Face & Body Scrub ($10.99 for 4 oz.; beautybox5shop.com) is “a favorite of all-natural beauty devotees and expecting mamas.” It is described as a “luxe vegan scrub” that is infused with moisturizing botanicals for safe and gentle exfoliation without parabens, harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances.
The last product was probably my favorite in the box this month. It’s a moisturizing candy-flavored/scented lip balm and Beauty Box Five sent out a full-sized version of the product. This balm totally takes me back to my Lip Smackers-collecting days! I love it.
Body Drench Candy Licious Lips ($3.99 for 0.09 oz.; bodydrench.com) is a lip balm that is infused with beeswax, coconut oil and vitamin E to hydrate and nourish the lips. They come in six different yummy flavors/scents, including Cotton Candy, Lemon Drop, Red Licorice, Grape Lollipop, Peppermint Stick and Lime Gumdrop.
SUBSCRIPTION BOX BREAKDOWN:
This wasn’t the most exciting BB5 I have received so far, but there were definitely some good items nonetheless 🙂 I’m especially loving the gentle exfoliator (I might buy the full-size product) and the candy lip balm.
