I had a few stickers left over from decorating my planner for Halloween last month, so I decided to use whatever I could for my November pages, giving them a bit of a fall-inspired “theme.” I can’t believe we are coming to the end of 2015! I’m not trying to rush it or anything, but I’m super excited to deck out my December pages next month for Christmas.
I am in love with everything fall — from the food to the fashions, the changing of the leaves and, of course, the end of summer humidity in New York (so my hair finally gets a break). My absolute favorite part of the fall, though, is my favorite holiday — HALLOWEEN! — which just happens to be in my favorite month, October 🙂
So I just had to deck out my October planner pages in all of the best Halloween stickers and tape I could find. I have lots of leftover Halloween planner decor, which is great because I can use them to decorate my weekly planner view over the next two weeks in anticipation of the best holiday ever.
Of course I had to buy Hello Kitty Halloween stickers, because my monthly planner pages wouldn’t be complete without them. Target always has different Hello Kitty stickers for most of the holidays, so I knew they would have cute ones for Halloween. I picked these up in the greeting cards section at Target. I’m sure there are a bunch of other versions out there, especially online, but these were the first ones I found and I thought they were pretty adorable.
The sticker with the bats flying over the moon is from the Sticko Vellum Halloween Boo Stickers ($1.49) that I got at Michael’s. These are available in store only, but you can check out what the whole sticker sheet looks like here.
The witch shoes are also from Michael’s, part of the Jolee’s Boutique Witch Stickers set ($1.99). They are out of stock online but are probably still available in stores.
The witch’s hat, broom and the witch flying over an iridescent moon are all from the Jolee’s Boutique witch stickers set. The candy corn is from the Sticko set.
I use the Kikki K Wooden Alphabet Stamp Set ($19.95; kikki-k.com) to write down the month and the year on my monthly planner pages. I like how this looks way better than my own handwriting. I guess stickers could also get the job done (neatly), but these stamps just make everything look slightly more official 🙂
This thick spiderweb tape is part of the Heidi Swapp Marquee Love line — I originally bought it to use with a Halloween marquee DIY project (which I will write up a post about this weekend), but I also thought it would be perfect for the bottom part of my October planner pages. This specific tape isn’t available online, but it should still be in stores. You can check out other Heidi Swapp Marquee Love tapes at the Michael’s website.
The cauldron sticker is part of the same Jolee’s Boutique witch stickers set and the Happy Halloween sign is from the Jolee’s Boutique Vintage Halloween Banner sticker set, which I also got from Michael’s ($1.99; michaels.com).
In this last photo are more stickers from both the Jolee’s witch set and the Sticko Halloween Boo stickers set. The washi tape that I used in the middle of the pages are:
1). Orange half-circle shapes tape from Michael’s (I think it was their Recollections brand) — I found this roll with the Halloween decor.
2). Black glitter tape from Scotch (available at Target, Staples, etc.).
Stay tuned for more planner decorating for Halloween over the next two weeks 🙂 Thanks for reading!
I know it’s been a really long time since I’ve posted anything but I couldn’t believe that my last post was all the way back in March — months and months ago. Needless to say, I’ve had a lot going on, but I’m back and I thought the perfect first post would be a Happy September post on how I setup my planner for the month. I was actually planning on getting this post up over a week ago, but I am really glad I finally got it done and now I can get back into the swing of blogging 🙂
I use a Kikki K lilac personal planner, which I absolutely adore. If anyone is interested I just wanted to note that the lilac version is discontinued but there are a bunch of other lovely color options, plus new planners that are added all the time. I also use a lot of their stickers and other products for decorating my planner. You can check out all of the sweet stationery goodies over at the Kikki K website.
Most months I usually use a piece of patterned paper for the top of the calendar and then I use a stamp set to write out the month on one side and the year on the other. This particular stamp set is also from Kikki K: the Wooden Alphabet Stamp Set. The butterfly stickers, also from Kikki K, are part of the Large Be Brave Planner Dashboard Starter Kit.
There is a better photo of the owl sticky notes, plus info on where to get them, below.
The quote card is also part of the Kikki K Be Brave Planner Starter Kit. I just realized that pretty much everything I used to decorate my September calendar is from Kikki K (except those owl sticky flags). I have a Kikki K haul post that I will write up sometime over the next couple of days so I can go into more detail about some of my most recent stationery purchases.
The little bird on the bottom is actually a cardboard cutout that was also part of the Large Be Brave Planner Dashboard Starter Kit.
These cute puffy cupcake stickers are actually from Michael’s — they are awesome and probably one of my favorite sticker sets. The only downside is that the pack didn’t come with that many in it, so I’m probably going to pick up some more on my next Michael’s trip.
The last decorative piece to my September 2015 calendar are these adorable little owl sticky flags that I found at Barnes & Noble. They are so perfect for many uses — like marking a page, making a little note on my calendar, marking something with the arrow of the note, etc. — and this pack came with 180 sticky markers so it will be awhile before I run out of them. They also come in six different colors and they were pretty cheap — only $3.95 at Barnes & Noble. You can click this link to buy them online.
I love decorating and organizing with my planner so I will be updating at least once every week with a new weekly view and, of course, once a month with each new month. Thanks for reading!
